Brenham Pallasite
The Brenham pallasite was
found in Brenham, Kiowa County, Kansas U.S.A. in 1882. Since that time, more
than a ton of material has been recovered making Brenham the most available
meteorite of the pallasite classification.
This photograph shows a 3kg+
Brenham endpiece. Due to the highly fractured nature of the olivine crystals,
prepared slices should be a minimum of 5-6mm thick. Any prepared surface should
be thoroughly flushed and stabilized to reduce oxides from developing under the
crystals.
